2.1 Z Zero is where the cutter is set to start the cut on the vertical axis; it can either be set to the top of the material or the bottom
2.2 XY Datum Position is where to set the zero point, or origin, for x and y position on the material. Usually, you will set this to the bottom left corner of the material, or to the bottom left corner of the bed of the machine. In some situations, it is useful to set the origin at the center of your material.
2.3 Use Offset is usually unchecked.
2.4 Units is to change the unit of measurement if desired.
*Tip* When measuring the material thickness, you should measure multiple spots throughout the material because some materials may have varying thicknesses throughout one piece; which may affect the result of your cut!
